What is an Arm Lift or Brachioplasty?
The purpose of an arm lift is to remove hanging skin from the upper arm to promote a toned appearance. Ronald C. Barry MD, FACS offers this surgery to help those who have droopy, sagging arms from weight loss, aging and genetics.
Qualifying for an Arm Lift Procedure
The optimal candidate for an arm lift has sagging or loose skin on the underside of the upper arms. This can occur from aging or wieght loss. The cost of the procedure is not covered by insurance.
How it Works
Arm lifts are simple outpatient procedures. Dr Barry will use incisions on the inside of your arm and proceed to remove excess skin. There will be a scar along the inside of the arm but the trade off is a more toned appearing upper arm.
Rest and Recovery
You will have a compressive garment to wear following surgery. We recommend giving yourself a few days off to elevate your arms and reduce swelling. This will speed up the healing process and lessen your pain. Your swelling will dissipate over several days and you should be able to return to normal life in a couple weeks.
